If you are having intravenous sedation or general anesthesia please read and follow the Before Anesthesia Instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may increase your risks and cause your surgery to be canceled.
Please also read the After Surgery Instructions, What to Expect after Oral Surgery, and Food Guidelines before your surgery to be properly prepared. These will help to answer any remaining questions you might have about your care and promote the quickest healing after surgery. You will also learn which foods you will want to have readily available after surgery. Eating is important to maintain your strength, promote healing and make you feel better but, the wrong foods may cause complications that may have been avoided. Plan ahead and stock the pantry with good choices before your surgery so that your energy after surgery can be used to heal and not to visit grocery stores. Additionally, if you can limit strenuous activity for a few days after surgery, swelling may be reduced which can lead to an even quicker recovery.
